This is my alpha attempt to draw.

The map is supposed to loop around, and i've got my territory links/created as a dot graph. However i think the map looks crap.

Powers are ┬┐Red Indians?, Mayans, Lucy's people (Africa/middle-east), India sub-continent (it's still an island), Proto-Vikings/Neanderthals(europeans), Han-Chinese, and Mongol/Turks

Minor powers of Korean/Japan, Celts, Arabs, ┬┐Turks?

Anyone good at drawing?

(amongst others that might help...)

I like the idea of a prehistoric map, however...
Africa and South America were not connected during human history. Look at the map in the link.
Lucy lived before anyone we would call human.
India had crashed into Asia long before this.

The only major geographical differences between the Ice Age and today are:
-The sea levels were down
-There was siginificantly more glaciation.

If you want to do a map showing the world millions of years ago, scotese.com is a good source, but it should not contain humans at all. If you want an Ice Age map, use the map in the above link (or the one on scotese.com for the Pleistocene) and try to copy that image.

Again, I fully endorse the idea of a prehistoric map and I wonder why no one has done it before.

Evidentially i hate drawing maps... or at least i find it rather annoying to do on a computer, is there anyone who would be interested in making this a reality? i've done a little bit more work lately...

It might be easier for you to draw it by hand, scan it, and then fix that draft in GIMP. My friend did that with one of his maps. Not too rigorous, I don't think.

I did some work in gimp, and happy with it (used some tracing of real world maps in gimp layers to get what resembles real coast lines) still needs a little work...

Still need t fix a few things...

hey that's come a long way... Looking forward to seeing this one develop further. Lots of potential IMHO.
